In 1937, he founded the Polaroid Corporation in Boston to further develop his invention. The polarizing filters called Polaroid filters were used, among other things, for the production of sunglasses. Even though the brand was active in other segments in the meantime, the focus was on the Polaroid photo from the Polaroid camera.

The Polaroid instant camera - An invention for eternity!
On February 21, 1947, Land introduced the camera that was still named after him at the time. With the so-called bellows camera, it was possible to hold a fully developed picture in one's hands shortly after taking the picture. This invention was a milestone in photography. Initially, the pictures were still black and white, or rather sepia. In 1963, the Polacolor color film was introduced for the Polaroid camera. In the 1970s, the Polaroid SX70 with its Polaroid film was available for purchase, and from that point on, the triumph of the Polaroid camera was unstoppable. The Polaroid instant camera has also left its mark on art. Andy Warhol in particular had a soft spot for Polaroid and allegedly always had one in his pocket, so entire works of art were created from and with the instant pictures. In 1982, the successor camera Polaroid 600 came on the market and was a best seller for a long time. After various changes of ownership and bankruptcies, the production of Polaroid instant cameras and Polaroid films was discontinued in 2008. After that, a group of enthusiasts got together under the name "The impossible Project" and bought up the last remaining Polaroid factory in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. At least films for Polaroid cameras were available for purchase during this time, and thanks to a few innovations, they sold like hot cakes. The trend towards analog photography, especially among young people, was growing and the classic Polaroid camera and its easy handling was a must-have for many. No wedding, no birthday parties could do without the Polaroid. Cameras like the Instax or the Mini Instax were again very much in demand.
