Clae

The sneaker brand Clae, was founded in 2001, by Sung Choi in Los Angeles.

The designer was responsible for skateboard sneakers at DC Shoes in the 90s, before founding his own brand. One of Clae's goals is to bridge a gap between sneakers and shoes. Clae sneakers combine style, comfort and timeless design. Influences range from clean, simple lines of modern art, to the lifestyle of New York in the 80s and 90s.

Sneakers from Clae are something special
In addition to the unique design of Clae sneakers, the main focus is on the materials used. The brand strives to minimize its environmental footprint while offering minimalist unisex sneakers. Particular attention is paid to the quality and origin of materials, as well as workmanship and comfort through innovative details. The name of the brand is derived from the English word clay, a raw material which is formed by movement. Fair payment for employees is just as important at Clae as environmentally friendly material processing. The leather used comes exclusively from certified companies that comply with environmental standards. Recycled materials are also used, for example to produce the shoe boxes. Renewable raw materials such as cotton or hemp are other important components of Clae sneakers.

The Clae Malone is available as a high-top or low-top sneaker. The Clae Dean and Bradley models are perfect if you are looking for a white sneaker for men.

Vegan sneakers from Clae
Already a third of the total production of Clae, are vegan sneakers. Together with a company from Mexico, vegan leather is obtained from a cactus. The cultivation of the plant and the processing of the material, is compared to others a lot more environmentally friendly and sustainable. The vegan leather is of high quality and does not need to hide in terms of look and feel.
Together with another partner, Clae helps to fish plastic waste from the sea. The collected material is recycled and processed into a fiber. This plastic fiber is used, among other things, for the production of knitted textile sneakers.
