Puraai is an Italian brand founded in 2018 by two designers who were inspired during a trip to Tokyo. The name Puraai is composed of the Japanese words "Pura" (プラ) for "plastic" and "Ai" (アイ) for "love", which reflects the brand's philosophy: the love of reusing materials, especially plastic, through recycling and sustainable practices. The Japanese sign is also the logo for the brand and used on the shoes aswell.
Puraai's product range mainly includes sneakers that are completely vegan and PETA-certified. The brand attaches great importance to sustainability and uses recycled materials for its products. For example, the soles are made from recycled rubber, while the inner lining is made from cork, a natural and brenewable material that ensures comfort and breathability.
A special feature of the Puraai sneakers is the use of innovative materials. The upper material varies depending on the model and can be made of mesh, nylon, vegan leather or synthetic leather. This variety makes it possible to create different designs and textures.
Puraai's designs are strongly inspired by the vintage style of the 1970s. Models such as the Polly are characterized by clean lines and a retro aesthetic. The collections offer a wide range of colors, from classic tones to bold color accents such as bright blue, deep red or modern green, adding a special touch to any outfit. The brand offers various models, including the XS, a classic design, and the Panther, an iconic running sneaker. These models are available in different colors and combine style with sustainability.
The shoes are produced in Italy, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern design elements. Local production minimizes transport routes, which reduces the carbon footprint and contributes to the brand's sustainability.
