In 1985 the Nike Dunk High was released as the successor of the Air Force 1. Basketball was incredibly popular in the USA and especially the big teams of college basketball inspired the fans. The designer Peter Moore, who also created the Nike Air Jordan 1, and his team developed the Dunk High. With the "College Colors" program, in which the colors of the model were based on the twelve most important college teams, the triumph of the Nike Dunk High began. Nike's marketing team gave the whole thing the headline: "Be true to your school" and every fan had the opportunity to dress in the colors of their team.

Nike Dunk Low - From the basketball court to Nike Dunk SB
Quickly the Nike Dunk became more and more popular outside the basketball court. Especially the skateboarders appreciated the features of the model. With its flat sole and good cushioning, it could also be used here as a performance sneaker. In 2002, Nike SB (Skateboarding) was then founded and the hype grew from year to year. Collaborations with Supreme, Travis Scott or Ben & Jerrys topped themselves regularly with superlatives.

In 1998 Nike brought the original colorways for the first time as retro versions on the market. More collaborations and exclusive models for the Japanese market followed. After the big hype about the Nike Dunk, there was a revision of the model by Nike. This Dunk Low sneaker is only for women and the modern version of the legendary design. Of course, Nike relies here again on current sneaker trends and equips the Nike Dunk Disrupt with a platform sole and uses oversized proportions.
