The adidas Equipment series is legendary and stood for a new beginning at adidas. At the end of the 1980s, the brand with the three stripes was in dire financial straits and was also sold to investors. Two former Nike employees joined adidas as consultants in 1989. Rob Strasser was a marketing expert and Peter Moore a designer. Their aim was to get adidas back on the road to success. True to the motto: Everything that is essential and nothing that is not, the products had to be simple but functional. Over the years, adidas had lost sight of the essentials, namely to produce the best sports shoes and clothing for athletes. With the inventiveness of Peter Moore and the craftsmanship of Jacques Chassaing, adidas Equipment became one of the most successful collections of all time in 1991.
