Event Recap: Overkill with Melisa Minca for Nike Air Max SNDR
The Nike Air Max SNDR is a modern sneaker that continues the legendary Air Max series. The model was introduced in various eye-catching colorways such as Volt and Hyper Pink. We teamed up with Melisa Minca for the launch of the all-black model. Melisa is a Berlin-based upcycling enthusiast and designer. She has been offering ethical fashion with a focus on sustainability since 2018. For our editorial, we visited Melisa Minca in her studio and looked over her shoulder during the creative process. The four-piece outfit created there, containing pants, vest, sleeves and belt, will be raffled off to our followers via our Instagram channel.
As a further highlight, we organized an upcycling workshop with Melisa in the showroom of our GATE boutique. We raffled some of the coveted places in advance via Instagram to allow our interested community to participate. Under Melisa's expert guidance, all 10 participants were able to give free rein to their creativity and create their very own items of clothing. The basis for all of them was vintage garments and the task was to reinterpret and bring new life into them. The results had to be louder than the original and they certainly were.
